The street turmoil, sounds of the vehicles from the near intersection, the trains coming by in the vicinity, and even the sounds of the children that play – the omnipresent noise bothers us decidedly too often. Therefore, it is worth protecting against noise. The sound control glasses are both much thicker, and heavier than the standard ones (due to the glass properties). These glasses may be made of the ordinary, tempered or laminated glass (two or more panes, combined with the PVB foil). As a matter of fact, in each window, one glass should be thicker than the other at least by 50%, what allows for efficient damping of the sounds of a different frequency. The sound control glasses of the Effector brand are one of the most effective manners of dealing with too loud sounds. A measure of the acoustic properties of the glazed units is a weighted sound insulation coefficient Rw. It is determined in a research manner in the accredited acoustic laboratories, according to the appropriate standards, specifying a damping level for the particular bandwidths of the spectrum between 100 and 3150 Hz. The glazed units used in the construction can achieve the acoustic insulation Rw>50dB. This effect can be obtained by the following means:

  • a usage at least one glass pane featuring great Surface weight (e.g. glass of 6 mm or thicker),
  • a usage at least one glass panes featuring the different elasticity, thus the usage of the damping properties of the laminated glass (safety glass),
  • a differentiated thickness of the glass. We acquire an improvement of damping, when both panes differ with a thickness by at least 50% (e.g. float glass - 4 mm and float glass 6 mm). In this manner it is possible to obtain an improvement of damping by 2-5 dB. It is together one of the most affordable methods of the improvement of the acoustic properties of the glazed unit,
  • filling an internal space with a heavy gas. It is worth knowing that filling the internal space with argon has no impact on the acoustic properties of the glass. A manner of the glass assembly does not change its acoustic insulation level – so, in the set of 44.4/16/4 the laminated glass, anti-burglary glass may be both external, and internal.
